Morning Star

Five thousand miles across the blue
I look to her and still see you do you see me
Do you look up and see her shine
Do your thoughts read the same as mine across the sea
Do you take the time to see my face shining from afar
Have you seen the tears on my face through the morning star

The hundred days away from you
Have made me want to see the two of us be one
Time and distance will not play any part while I’m away
‘Cause our time will come
As the pieces all fit in to place we find out who we are
From the sky we’ll look out into space and find the morning star

I want to fly with you to somewhere there’s so much we can do
It’s all just waiting out there
Waiting like a sun that’s not yet risen for you

The naked winter rears it’s head
A stepping stone to what’s ahead spring will appear
Bringing colour to the land
Still feeling comfort from your hand across the hydrosphere
And somewhere someday Venus will light our every day
The moment that she’s seen us she’ll guide us on our way

I want to walk the world with you
To follow herds of Caribou into the sun
To chase and find the things we see
That fill the minds of you and me and do as one
But wherever in the world we go however near or far
She’ll always shine her light on us shine on morning star

Waiting like a sun that’s not yet risen for you
Waiting like a flower that’s not yet opened for you
Waiting like a song I’ve not yet written for you
